5) Strike Anywhere - Iron Front

Bless this band. This band rarely strays from the same formula: play it fast, play it loud, and add 8 billion vocal melodies to the mix. They do the same thing here on Iron Front, yet this somehow seems like the most complete and energetic record they've written to date.
The record opens with "Invisible Colony/I'm Your Opposite Number" and it's a great set up to what follows. Lots of gang vocals, Thomas' unique vocal style (which is half scream, half sung) propels each song towards half-time breakdowns, and all of this is surrounding by some of the catchiest vocals and music you'll hear in punk rock. But it's actually the final song that really cements in my love for this record. During the final break of "Postcards From Home," Thomas hits high notes I'd never heard from him.
